The Ideal Vehicle Awards are based on a 15-question consumer survey that this year garnered responses from over 65,000 vehicle owners. The purpose of the survey is straightforward, with respondents rating their automobiles in five categories: technology, power and acceleration, safety, storage, and ride handling, and then recommending the changes they would make to their vehicle in each category. The award winners are those vehicles that best meet their owners’ expectations. The 2016 Subaru Crosstrek was joined by the Subaru Outback (1st place in the Premium Midsize segment) and the 2016 Subaru Forester (1st place in the Mid-Size segment), both of which also finished first in last year’s AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Awards.
