Each year, the Car Care Council supports two months to bring attention to the importance of car care and preventative maintenance. These months are April and October.

Now that October is coming to an end, if you have yet to visit our Subaru service center at Herb Gordon Subaru, there is still time to celebrate National Car Care Month!

Why October?

October is the month when fall really kicks into gear in the Silver Spring, MD area. Drivers looking to get their cars prepared for winter should schedule their service appointments before the snow and cold temperatures start to hit.

Summer months can take their toll on a vehicle, so for maximum safety and vehicle performance during the winter, we recommend preventative maintenance in October.

Maintenance to Prepare for Winter

Here are some of the most common types of maintenance that our technicians will perform during October Fall Car Care Month. Remember that we stand out from the competition by only using genuine OEM Subaru parts.

  • Oil change: Having fresh oil during the winter will help your vehicle’s performance and fuel efficiency.
  • Tire check: As the temperature drops, the air pressure in your car’s tires will also drop. To keep you safe, we’ll make sure that the tire pressure is ideal and that your tires have enough tread to handle adverse road conditions.
  • Windshield wiper blade check: If your car’s wiper blades are worn down, they will not be able to adequately wipe away snow and ice. We’ll install new wiper blades if necessary.

Celebrate Fall Car Care Month by scheduling an appointment with Herb Gordon Subaru today.
