About the US Facility
In early February 2026, the very first American-produced 2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid was completed in the automaker’s Lafayette, IN facility. Production on the traditional gas version began in 2025. This means that from now on, all Subaru Forster models sold in the US will be produced domestically.

The 2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid is one special SUV. Its 2.5-liter engine teams up with a permanent magnet AC synchronous motor to deliver a combined 194 horsepower. Standard performance features include Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE®), a Lineartronic® continuously variable transmission, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive®, and X-MODE®.
However, it’s not only the performance that makes it such a great model—it’s also incredibly well designed.
