However, each brings unique strengths to the road. Herb Gordon Subaru compares these
vehicles' strengths so you can make an educated decision.
Design: Compact Sleekness or Rugged Utility
The Subaru Solterra was introduced as the brand's first all-electric SUV, offering compact proportions, modern lines, and urban-friendly versatility. The Subaru Trailseeker builds on the same platform with a longer, taller frame and SUV-focused styling, including roof rails and body cladding designed for off-road gear and family travel. Both models ride on the eSubaru Global Platform, blending style with Subaru durability.
Performance and Electric Range
Under the hood, both SUVs feature dual-motor all-wheel drive, 8.3 inches of ground clearance, and X-MODE® for confident all-weather control. The Subaru Solterra XT delivers 338 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in around 5 seconds, and achieves an estimated 285 miles of range. The Subaru Trailseeker increases output to 375 horsepower with quicker acceleration-around 4.3 seconds-and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds. Its range slightly decreases to approximately 260 miles, making it ideal for drivers prioritizing muscle and utility.
Interior Space and Adventure-Ready Features
Both models come equipped with a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, dual wireless chargers, and standard EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. The Subaru Trailseeker adds trail-focused perks like a flat rear load floor, 120V outlet, and greater cargo room-perfect for camping or biking gear. The Subaru Solterra offers a smoother, quieter ride that's well-suited for daily driving around Washington, D.C., and the suburbs.
Charging and EV Convenience
Charging is simple with access to both CCS and the new North American Charging Standard (NACS), giving you Tesla Supercharger® access in 2025 and beyond. DC fast charging up to 150 kW brings the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 35 minutes, helping you stay on the move during longer trips.
