The Redesigned 2026 Subaru Outback Sets the Bar Higher

Performance 

The 2025 Subaru Outback offers six trims and two powerful engines to consider. The entry-level and midrange trims equip a 2.5-liter four-cylinder BOXER® engine rated at 180 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The two high-end trims upgrade to a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder BOXER that outputs 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Both engines pair with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive® (AWD) and a smooth-shifting continuously variable transmission (CVT). 

For off-road enthusiasts, the range-topping 2026 Subaru Outback Wilderness is the go-to trim. Along with all-terrain tires, dual-function X-MODE®, and an aluminum alloy front skid plate, this tough crossover comes with a special suspension that raises ground clearance to 9.5 inches and integrates electronically controlled dampers.  

Infotainment 

This new Subaru for sale pairs class-leading performance with an outstanding infotainment platform. Here, the biggest news is the debut of an all-new display array consisting of a 12.3-inch full-digital gauge cluster and the Subaru 12.1-inch multimedia system, which includes wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. Most trims also come standard with wireless device charging and a Harman Kardon® premium sound system.  

Safety 

The Subaru Outback has always stressed safety, and this is especially true in 2026.
